2. Check out customer reviews.
In addition to getting references, check out service review websites and customer reviews to see what others are saying. Pay attention to comments about the property inspector’s rates, customer service, professionalism, communication skills, and the quality of the inspection report.
3. Do a few interviews.
Just like you wouldn’t buy a property sight unseen, don’t hire a commercial property inspector without first talking to him or her. Interview a few inspectors so you can get a good feel for their level of service, inspection rates, and the company. From there, you can narrow down your list for further review or choose an inspector.
4. Verify their credentials.
While your Uncle Bob may be quite the handyman, he may not be certified to assess a commercial property and all its systems. You want a property inspector who knows what to look for in a commercial building. Toward that end, make sure the property inspector has the proper credentials and experience.
